The leader of the Dubuque Racing Association and Q-Casino + Resort has announced his resignation
Alex Dixon, who has served as the President and CEO of both the DRA and Q-Casino since August of 2021 turned in his resignation to the DRA Board today during their regular meeting. Dixon says he will be pursuing another leadership opportunity out-of-state. His final day with the organization will be January 15th.
Brian Rakestraw, Q Casino + Resort’s current COO and CFO, was named to be Interim CEO. He will oversee operations for the resort and DRA after Dixon’s departure while a search for a new leader is conducted.
According to DRA Board Chair Mike Donahue, completion of the extensive casino renovation and expansion project currently underway will continue, as scheduled.
