Northeast Iowa Community College will spend around $704-thousand dollars to create at cutting-edge advanced manufacturing “super lab” inside its Industrial Technologies building on the Peosta campus.
Using funds though the Iowa Accelerated Career Education Program, the NICC Board of Trustees awarded the project to Foreman Construction of Hiawatha. Construction is scheduled to begin next month with the project completion in time for the 2025-26 academic year.
NICC says the lab’s design will allow expansion of enrollment in its advanced manufacturing programs. They say space also will better accommodate evolving technology in the advanced manufacturing industry, including the Industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and more.
