A southwest Wisconsin man has been formally charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of another southwest Wisconsin man last month.
39-year old Jessie Slaughter is charged in Crawford County Circuit court in the in the October 25th death of 65-year old Daniel Welsch of Prairie du Chien. Slaughter made his initial court appearance this week.
According to investigators, Slaughter strangled and stabbed Welsch inside Welsch’s Prairie du Chien apartment.
Slaughter was arrested the next day at a residence in Platteville where he was staying at least part time.
Slaughter’s next court date is set for December 3rd.
