Guatemalan Man Pleads Guilty to Conspiring to Distribute Methamphetamine in Dubuque

A Guatemalan man who conspired to distribute methamphetamine in Dubuque pled guilty yesterday in federal court in Cedar Rapids.

In a plea agreement, 30-year old Jose Aceves-Garcia admitted that between January 2019 and January 2022, he distributed at least 400 pounds of ice methamphetamine to a co‑conspirator in the Dubuque area.

Aceves-Garcia faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
