Orchard Manor Board Approves Adjustment To Skilled Nursing Facility Capacity

NEWS WISCONSIN

A southwest Wisconsin skilled nursing facility has announced a decision to downsize.

Last week, the Orchard Manor Committee approved reducing the number of licensed beds at Orchard Manor Skilled Nursing in Lancaster from 99 to 74.

The committee says some of the factors influencing the change included sustained census trends over the past four years, the financial burden of $170 dollars monthly state bed tax per bed, and ongoing staffing challenges within the health care industry.

Orchard Manor says the adjustment will not impact current residents’ care or their staffs’ roles.
