Today the Wahlert High School football team will attempt to land a spot in a state football championship game for the first time in school history when the 11-0 Golden Eagles square off with 11-0 Sergeant Bluff –Luton in the Class 3A semi-finals at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. This 2nd trip to the state semi’s and is the 5th trip in Wahlert school history.
Golden Eagles head coach Jamie Marshall says there are a lot of similarities between his team and their opponent the Warriors.

Speaking of defense, Marshall says the way the Golden Eagles have played it has made it possible to be the position they are in.

Wahlert has allowed only 7.2 points per game and has shut out four opponents over the 11 games played.
