Officials with Hartig Drug are announcing they will be closing one of their Dubuque locations next month.
Officials say the Hartig Drug 22-25 Central Avenue will close effective December 13th, however the retail space in the store may stay open longer to accommodate the sale of available products.
All staff at the Central Avenue location have been offered new positions within the company.
Declining insurance reimbursements from large pharmacy benefit managers, as well as industrywide employee shortages and increases in operating costs are being blamed for the decision.
Patient records and prescription services will be accessible at any Hartig Drug, and physical records will be transferred to the location in Asbury Square
