As Dubuque waits for some snowfall, someone in need might need your help this winter to clear the snow and ice from their sidewalk. The DBQ Shovel Crew program is for those who are physically and financially unable to remove snow.
The City of Dubuque is accepting applications for those needing assistance shoveling and seeking volunteers for the Snow Shoveling Assistance Program. If possible, volunteers are asked to use their own equipment, but the city says they do have a limited supply of shovels and deicer salt for volunteers to borrow.
To be considered for the program, applicants must reside in Dubuque and meet some eligibility requirements.
The program will have limited capacity and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of volunteers identified will ultimately determine the number of DBQ Shovel Crew pairings that can be made through the program.
If you would like to be a DBQ Shovel Crew volunteer or if you are in need of help shoveling, go to the City of Dubuque website .
