Delaware County Woman Who Pled Guilty To Involuntary Manslaughter In 2021 UTV Death Sentenced

A Delaware County woman who was driving a UTV in a 2021 rollover crash killing a passenger and pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges has been sentenced

28-year old Hanna Meese of Edgewood was sentenced Tuesday in Delaware County District Court to serve 10 years in prison. She must also Meese initially was charged with homicide by vehicle-operating while intoxicated.

The crash occurred in May of 2021 when Meese failed to maintain control while negotiating a curve and she and 32-year old Jordan Cabalka of Edgewood both were ejected.  Cabalka later died of his injuries. Meese also suffered serious injuries in the accident.

As part of the sentence, Meese must also pay Cabalka’s family 150-thousand dollars in restitution.
