A 31-year old northwest Illinois woman has been convicted of killing her husband’s grandmother and faces life in prison.
The Layfayette County jury returned the guilty verdict for Shannon Bussan of Elizabeth yesterday afternoon following approximately four hours deliberations.
Bussan was charged in Lafayette County Circuit Court with first-degree intentional homicide in the death February 2023 death of 83-year old Lynne Montgomery of Benton, Wisconsin.
A sentencing date is set for December 23rd. In Wisconsin, first-degree intentional homicide comes with a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
