Saints Take Down Stars to Extend Win Streak
LINCOLN, NE – The Dubuque Fighting Saints (10-3-0-0, 20 pts) extended their win streak to five with a 4-1 win over the Lincoln Stars (9-3-0-0, 18 pts) on Friday night. The Fighting Saints earned their 10th win and 20th point of the season, the first USHL team to reach both marks so far.
Dubuque puts its five-game win streak on the line on Saturday night in a road matchup against the Tri-City Storm.
Iowa State Cross Country Meet
Western Dubuque Quentin Nauman had an impressive performance in winning 3A medalist honors at the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge yesterday. The Bobcats junior broke the Iowa Class 3A state cross country meet record with a 5K time of 14:59.6 for a 17.3 second victory. Wahlert junior Jayden Brookins also reached the podium with a 15th-place finish.
Maquoketa junior Izzy Hardin finished fifth in the girls race Wahlert junior Lucy Murphy finished 17th.
In Class 4A, the Senior Rams got the 3rd place team trophy led by Claire Hoyer in 9th. Hempstead took 10th behind fifth-place individual Evie Henneberry.
Today Class 1A and 2A athletes will be in action.
