Dubuque Firefighters were called to a home last night on the report of a chimney fire. Shortly before 9:30, authorities received a 9-1-1 call from the home at 1866 Carter Road reporting the chimney was on fire.
Firefighters doused the chimney and roof areas with water and also found fire in the vaulted ceiling attic space and extinguished it.
There were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $26,000. The cause of what sparked the fire is under investigation.
