Boys Golf
The Wahlert High School boys golf team has advanced to the state meet next week by winning the district championship yesterday at Thunder Hills in Peosta. The Golden Eagles tied with Pleasant Valley for low team score at 298, but Pleasant Valley won the first-place team tiebreaker with the lower fifth position score.
Western Dubuque’s Brock Wilson also qualified finishing as medalist with a low round of 3 under 68.
Senior finished 6th and Hempstead was 12th.
The Fall State Meet will Monday and Tuesday in Ankeny.

The University of Dubuque secured its fifth American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) title in the last six years for coach Dustin Bierman after firing a 315 in the final round to best the field by seven shots.
UD’s Morgan Hawkins captured individual medalist honors after posting a three-round total of 232.
