A man was arrested by Dubuque Police after leading them on a short high speed chase and then threatening an officer with a stick.
Police say early Thursday morning, they attempted to make contact with 46-year old Corey Rinehart of Colby, Wisconsin while he was in his vehicle in the Q Casino parking lot. Police say Rinehart, who was wanted on a parole violation, sped off onto Greyhound Park Road. Officers deployed tire deflation devices and the vehicle crashed into a wooded area near the intersection of East 16th Street.
Rinehart was reportedly standing stuck in the mud near his vehicle when police found him. An officer pulled him out using a wooden stick, Rinehart then took control of the stick, and threatened and officer with it. Police then shocked him with a tazer to take him into custody. He now faces numerous charges for the incident.
