A central Iowa man was injured in a one vehicle accident near Galena. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened shortly before 5 yesterday evening on North Ferry Landing Road at West Cross Road. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 36-year old Darrell Plowman of Brooklyn was going too fast and went off the road into a ditch. The vehicle then went down a steep embankment and hit some large rocks. Plowman was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena and later airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
Plowman faces several charges including driving under the influence of alcohol.
