A Chicago man will now face attempted murder charges for an alleged shooting incident in Dubuque in 2022.
On Monday, 25-year old Tavon Baylock who was just released from jail out of state was extradited back to Dubuque and is being held in the Dubuque County Jail on 750-thousand dollars bond.
The incident happened on June 23rd in 2022 .Dubuque Police responded to the area of West 23rd Street and Central Avenue for a report of shots fired. Following a police investigation they determined Baylock was in one vehicle and fired several shots from a handgun at two men in another vehicle. Neither of the men was reportedly injured. Bullet hole damage was found throughout the vehicle and also some neighboring buildings. Traffic camera footage then helped police identify Baylock as the alleged shooter.
Along with the attempted murder charges ,Baylock faces several other charges including intimidation with a dangerous weapon, reckless use of firearm with property damage, and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
