Two new Marriott hotels are coming to the City of Dubuque by the end of 2026.

An agreement approved last night by the Dubuque City Council approves the sale 2 acres of land in the Port of Dubuque to Kinseth Hospitality Company. In turn, the Iowa hotel developer is building a six-story facility to house two connected Marriott hotels. The Courtyard by Marriott is designed to accommodate short term guests while the Residence Inn for long-term visitors across a combined 160 hotel rooms.

Kinseth Executive Vice-President Ben Kinseth told the council the new hotels could potentially encourage more development in the Port.

Dubuque Economic Development Director Jill Connors says this is welcome news.

Under Kinseth Hospitality’s agreement with the city, the 30-million dollar complex is expected to be finished by the end of December 2026.
