Patriot Day

Flag

Today is Patriot Day. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be flown at half-staff today in honor of the memory of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001

Nearly 3,000 Americans died in the national tragedy, including hundreds of first responders who ran in to save the victims.

Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and at all public buildings, grounds and facilities across the state.

People across the state, along with businesses, schools and municipalities, are encouraged to also fly the flag at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
