During a live performance event, Linkin Park announced that Emily Armstrong of the band Dead Sara will be their new co-vocalist, and also revealed an upcoming new album and tour. Per Variety, Colin Brittain, a songwriter and producer for G Flip, Illenium and One OK Rock, is also joining the group as a drummer.

Armstrong will join co-vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn (turntablist), guitarist Brad Delson, and bassist Phoenix, along with new drummer Brittain (original drummer Rob Bourdon is not taking part in the reunion).

Linkin Park also unveiled the single “The Emptiness Machine,” Linkin Park’s first new music release in seven years and the lead track off their upcoming album, “From Zero” due out November 15 (their first album since 2017’s “One More Light”). Shinoda shared of the new album: “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead .. The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

The band is also set to embark on the six-date “From Zero” arena tour, kicking-off September 11th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with dates in Brooklyn, New York; Hamburg, Germany, London, England; and Seoul, South Korea, and Bogota, Colombia. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, September 7th via Ticketmaster,
