Two Darlington residents suffered what authorities say are life threatening injuries in a one vehicle accident last night. The Layfayette County Sheriff says the accident happened around 7 o’clock on County Highway F, near the intersection of Mt. Pleasant Road near Fayette.
Authorities say the vehicle in which 20-year old Darlin Moncada-Ortez, and 17-year old Maycol Rodriguez went off the road in hit a guard rail and then a bridge abutment. Both men were partially thrown out of the vehicle. It’s not known who the driver was. Both Moncada-Ortiz and Rodriguez were airlifted to U-W Hospitals in Madison.
The Sheriff’s Department says speed and alcohol were contributors to the accident which is still under investigation.
