The Iowa State Patrol is investigating an accident in Jackson County where a person riding in an electric wheel chair was injured after being hit by a pick-up. No names have been released by authorities.
The accident happened around 1:15 yesterday afternoon at 10807 Leisure Lake Road near Bernard. The State Patrol says their investigation shows the pick-up was rounding a curve and lost control striking the person in the wheelchair. The person was taken by Bernard Fire/EMS to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for treatment.
