A former Wisconsin state legislator has died. The Telegraph Herald reports 64-year old Steve Freese died Wednesday morning at his home in Hazel Green following a battle with cancer.
Freese served the 51st district as a Republican from 1991 to 2007. He also was CEO of Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association during his career.
Freese was executive director of Circus World Museum in Baraboo and chief administrative officer of Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation before joining Cooperative Network in 2015, where he reestablished Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association.
