The MTV Video Music Awards announced that Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, GloRilla and Rauw Alejandro will be among the live performers during the Sept. 11 show at New York’s UBS Arena.

MTV has bumped the date of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards from Tuesday Sept. 10 to Wednesday Sept. 11. to avoid conflicting with the planned U.S. Presidential debate between vice president Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.  MTV announced that they will recognize the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, with the network noting that it will support the nonprofit ‘9/11 Day’ (aka September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance) and Tuesday’s Children, which acknowledges the families of 9/11.

Each of the announced performers is nominated at this year’s VMAs, and Carpenter leads the pack with six nods — including artist of the year and song of the year for her viral hit “Espresso.”  GloRilla has three noms, with Roan and Alejandro earning two, and Cabello for one. This year’s VMAs also has 29 first-time nominees, including Carpenter, Roan, Alejandro, Tyla, Jelly Roll, Sexxy Red, Victoria Monét and many more.

The network later announced a second round of performers, including Lenny Kravitz, Lisa of BLACKPINK, Halsey and Benson Boone.
