Dyersville Woman Sentence For Drug Conspiracy Leading To  Fatal Overdose

A Dyersville woman is going to federal prison for her part in a drug conspiracy that ended up killing a young woman.

30-year old Whitaker Jo Ingles of Dyersville pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and has been sentenced to 11 years and five months behind bars.

Prosecutors say Ingles was part of an illegal organization that sold cocaine in the Dubuque area between 2019 and early 2021.  Ingles admitted to helping get the cocaine from the individual who brought it from Chicago, and then worked with others to distribute the drug near Madison Park in Dubuque.

Law enforcement says one of Ingles’ partners sold the drug to a young woman In February of 2021.  The young woman went home, used the cocaine, and had a fatal overdose.

Ingles must also pay nearly $14-thousand dollars in restitution to the family of the young woman who died.
