A Hazel Green man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Layfayette County.
The Sheriff’s Department says Sunday evening shortly before 6 o’clock, 29-year old Francis Carlborg lost control of cycle he was operating on Phillip Lane in Benton. Authorities say Carlborg went into the ditch and was thrown from the cycle. He was first taken to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, but then was flown to University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Authorities say Carlborg wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered serious head injuries; he was cited with failure to maintain control.
