The City of Dubuque is taking steps to try and speed up rental inspections in the city. Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanaugh.
Cavanaugh says City Housing and Development has formulated a two tier plan.
Currently inspections are taking up to four years to be done, Cavanaugh say the new system would increase the frequency of inspections significantly.
The self-inspection information would then be submitted for review and would be followed by another in-person inspection two years later.
