The Dubuque City Council met in regular session last night.
In regular session:
- The council approved the Urban Renewal Plan for the Mount Pleasant Place Housing Urban Renewal Area. The proposed Plan would include a low- and moderate-income housing development with 16 single-family homes constructed by Habitat for Humanity.
- The council approved awarding the Locust Street Parking Ramp Repairs Project to Restoration & Renovation Services of Dubuque in the amount of nearly 279-thousand dollars. The project is expected to be completed by November 1st.
- The council also approved the Jefferson Park Retaining Wall Replacement Project for just over 201-thousand dollars awarding the project to Eastern Iowa Excavating and Concrete.
Prior to the regular meeting, the council held a work session getting an update on the progress of the development plan for Schmitt Island which included a the potential for an expanded marina serving the island, apartment developments and new hotel connected to the current ice arena.
