A driver was injured while attempting a stunt at the Maquoketa Speedway on Sunday night, according to the Iowa State Patrol. According to our coverage partners KCRG, the speedway was hosting a ‘Night of Destruction’ event as part of the Jackson County Fair. State Patrol says the driver was attempting to jump a Chevy Silverado though a camper when the truck collided with the camper. The driver lost consciousness and the truck continued off the track. The truck crossed Highway 62 and crashed into a shed before coming to a rest. The driver had to be extricated from the truck and airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City. There is no word on that person’s condition.
