A Platteville woman was injured in a car-semi truck accident. The Grant County Sheriff says the accident happened Thursday afternoon shortly after noon on Highway 151 at the intersection with Hill Climb Road near Dickeyville. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 77-year old Elaine Shanley was stopped at the intersection and then pulled out to cross the southbound lanes and was hit by the oncoming semi driven by 59-year old Henry Chamberlain of Fort Atkinson.
Both vehicles then went into the median. Shanley was taken to Southwest Health in Platteville, but then transferred to U-W Hospitals in Madison for further treatment of possible serious injuries. Chamberlain was not injured in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
