It’s game day at the state tournament for both the Wahlert High School baseball and softball team.
The top ranked and top seeded Golden Eagles baseball team (33-9) will meet 8th seed Central Dewitt (25-12) at 7:30 this evening at Kernels Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. This is Wahlert’s 3rd state tournament appearance in the past four seasons. The winner advances to the 3A semi-finals on Wednesday evening. The 3rd ranked and 3rd seeded Golden Eagles softball team (29-10) will meet 7th ranked and number 6 seed Sunmer-Fredricksburg at 7:30 at Harlan Rogers Park in Fort Dodge. This is the third straight state tournament trip for the Wahlert Softball team. The winner advances to the 3A semi-final round on Wednesday.
