A former Dubuque priest will not face charges of child sex abuse which allegedly occurred in the 1980’s. Today in Dubuque County District Court, all charges against 68-year-old Leo Riley were dismissed with the court ruling the statute of limitations had expired.
Riley faced five counts of second-degree sexual abuse relating to accusations from four altar boys during his time at the Resurrection Parish in Dubuque.
Riley who was extradited from his home in Port Charlotte, Florida to Dubuque to face the charges denied the claims and pleaded not guilty before the case was dismissed today.
