Dubuque Police are warning you of a phone scam circulating in city.
Police say multiple community members have reported receiving phone calls from scammers claiming to be the Police Department or the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department.
Police say the caller will say they have a warrant for their arrest and must make payment immediately to satisfy the warrant.
Police officials say the department would never call to ask anyone for payment information over the phone. If you have concerns contact the Dubuque Police Department.
