Yesterday two separate traffic accidents on Highway 20 on the Illinois side of the river in East Dubuque affected busy July 4th holiday weekend travel crossing the Julien Dubuque Bridge.
The first at around noon yesterday brought eastbound travel to a halt for about two hours. The second accident shortly before 6 yesterday evening resulted in authorities completely closing the bridge for just over two hours while crews worked to clean up. No details on either accident are yet available.
