Avelo Airlines has informed the Dubuque Regional Airport they will not be offering flights to Orlando, Florida for the remainder of the year.

Avelo had planned to resume direct flights from Dubuque to Orlando in November but said aircraft availability and increasing costs at Orlando International Airport factored into the decision.  Avelo announced similar decisions yesterday for five other Orlando “spoke” airports it served:

Dubuque Regional Airport Manager Todd Dalsing was disappointed with Avelo’s decision, noting the popularity of the Orlando flight last year as evidenced by 80-90% load factors during peak travel times.

Dalsing said conversations with Avelo regarding service in 2025 are ongoing as well as discussions with other airlines to explore new flights and destinations at the Dubuque Regional Airport.
