You will need to be weather aware the remainder of the day. The National Weather Service has forecast the chances of severe weather along with heavy rains into the evening. A Flood Watch is in effect for this afternoon and tonight and has been expanded to include southwest Wisconsin and northwest Illinois. The Weather Services says some areas could receive 3 inches or more of rain through tomorrow morning.
With the forecasted rains here and to the north, it’s raised the projected level of the crest for the Mississippi River at Dubuque to 22.1 feet sometime on Thursday. The river at Dubuque is at 21 feet this morning.
The river is forecast to stay around the Major Flooding Category of 21.5 feet through early next week. A Flood Warning for the Mississippi River remains in effect until further notice.
