Fighting Saints NHL Draft
Six former Dubuque Fighting Saints were selected in rounds 2 thru 7 of the NHL Draft in Las Vegas yesterday. The highest pick was Colin Ralph taken in the 2nd round by the St. Louis Blues with the 48th pick of the draft. Noah Powell went in round 5 to Philadelphia, Joona VAISANEN went in the 6th round to Pittsburgh. Three went in the 7th round: James Reeder to the LA Kings, Scott Fischer to Detroit, and Eric Pahlsson to Nashville.
In all, 49 players with USHL ties were selected in the 7 rounds.
