Trial Set For Dubuque Man Charged With Taking Jewelry From Elderly Mother

A Dubuque man recently pled not guilty to charges of first degree theft against an older individual for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from his mother and then selling them to pawn shops in Dubuque.douglas winner

 

51-year old Douglas Winner will now go to trial on the charges August 13th in Dubuque County District Court.

 

In April, police charged Winner following an investigation which began after his mother reported to authorities she had been noticing jewelry missing from the home. The 17 pieces of jewelry missing were valued at well over $10-thousand dollars and perhaps as much as 35-thousand. Police say their investigation showed the jewelry was sold to two different pawn shops.
