The board of directors of the Multicultural Family Center in Dubuque (MFC) received the Governor’s Volunteer Award from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds during a special recognition ceremony in Ankeny earlier this week.

The MFC board was honored with an award for groups of volunteers. More than 400 awards are being presented this year to honorees representing more than 85 Iowa communities.

The MFC board was nominated for the award by Antonio Mouzon, Executive Director of the center. In his nomination, Mouzon described the board members as being exceptional in their dedication and service while demonstrating an unwavering commitment to promoting inclusion, understanding, and cultural competency within the Dubuque community.
