If you were hoping to do some camping at Miller-Riverview Park over the 4th of July holiday, you will have to make other plans.
Dubuque Leisure Services says due to high river levels on the Mississippi, park will remain closed to campers and others who want to use the park until further notice. Refunds are being issued to campers who made reservations prior to the campground’s closure on May 26. Refunds will continue to be issued until the campground re-opens. The online camping reservation system will not accept any new reservations until the campground re-opens.
The National Weather Service says the already higher than normal river level which is 14.6 this morning is forecast to continue to rise and to reach flood stage of 17 foot at Dubuque this Wednesday.
